Guide Eight: Engage
Our team noticed that people like our work, but don’t subscribe. There was engagement, but almost no new followers.
We spent a long time thinking about what could be improved.
We tried many approaches — from simple and predictable to completely non-standard — and eventually realized that, in most cases, people react negatively to a direct request to subscribe.
So we decided to focus on two things instead:
1. New work every week — so followers wouldn’t miss anything important
This alone encourages people to subscribe naturally.
