Now, you might think — “design is about maximum creativity and full-on power…” Well, not so much. In this article we will talk about White Space (or Empty Space) and why it is much more important than one may assume.
To understand empty space and its use in graphic design, we must roll back to the beginnings and roots of design. In most of digital history, many assumed design had solely a visual purpose — be pleasing, aesthetic and so on.

But, as technology progressed, the need for visual appeal became accompanied with the need for comfort and ease of use and interactions.
This evolved due to the striking influx of competition that resulted in a shift of values. Essentially, users are fed up with designs being just pretty. Today, it is not enough.
